This whole exchange is a reminder of tedious it is to converse with someone who doesn't know anything and constantly reinterprets words beyond their meaning (i.e. Poundians = contemporary American professors). I will go back to ignoring.

Well, it might be tedious but I do think the right response to alot of these controversies is to say 1) yeah, that stuff is problematic 2) but person should not be cancelled. I mean, that's basically what I feel about all culture.
