good art is properly drawn feet

probably a good case could be made that comics like The Ultimates did more to ruin comics in the long-run than sloppy Rob Liefeld drawings, hyper-labor intensive, fussy, grim

If we're complaining about feet, then let's complain about how Captain America can't have doofy looking pirate boots anymore, instead the artist has to spend a week painstakingly rendering military-accurate combat bootshttps://twitter.com/zacksoto/status/1402323832317222916?s=20 …

Drokk Samson @zacksotoDesign gripe/I'm old: I absolutely hate the ascendance of the Ultimates/MCU Captain America as the standard suit. Nothing against the approach in/of itself, but as it becomes de rigueur, it just feels so unimaginative & stultifying. tho, it's interesting that a lot of what my lingering annoyances at Liefeld have to do with, are the sloppy phoned-in last few issues of X-Force, the Juggernaut does 9/11 sideways issues that looked like they were drawn in about an hour. I feel like I didn't get my money's worth!

more seriously, as a consumer, that kind of clearly rushed work felt like a cheat. I think that's what the "no feet" thing has always been about. Maybe that's not good art criticism, but y'know, kids spend their own money on comics, it sucks feeling like the creators don't care

Jack Kirby had a lot of comic pages to draw in a month too, he put feet in those things

Kirby is kind of a high standard to hold people to (don't disagree but just saying).
