But that's not at all what's happened over the last three years - despite losing both houses of Congress and the presidency, the party hasn't been chastened at all, and instead has kept migrating to the right, and doubling down on its anti-democratic tendencies.

And even if you set future gerrymandering aside, the the nature of the Senate and geographic polarization makes it likely that most GOP politicians will stay in office, regardless of whether these voter-suppression laws go into effect or not.
