I don't quite understand what you think the end game is. The Republican Party isn't going away. So just writing them off is not an option - if anything, it's only going to amplify their hostility to democracy. What, exactly, is the strategy you think Dems should pursue?

I think all US politics is reduced to short term planning around the election cycles. R's have to stir up their fascist base knowing they lost the middle and D' have to appear moderate to keep the middle. So Biden will keep up the facade of trying to work with them

You make it seem as if it's a clear choice, but it's not clear at all that the Dems will be able to ignore the Rs and use reconciliation to pass the infrastructure bill. And if they can't, then they run up against the filibuster and its defenders Manchin and Sinema.
