Resistance liberals probably wouldn't accept the idea of Democratic blame but there's no reason why leftists who believe fascism analysis shouldn't. It's a major problem that Dems are not the type of party that can successful resist authoritarianism.

I think that's fair but asymmetrical in one important way: American political system already has a lot of authoritarian features supported by both parties (presidential powers, outsized military, patriot act). A GOP president more competent than Trump could exploit.
