The one political point to make here is that the authoritarian & closes nature of Chinese regime is feeding into this -- that people naturally get suspicious in the face of officials clamping down on news. This is why the lab leak theory inevitable whether it happened or no.

Fair enough and good advice. And very good for you for being agnostic on the lab leak theory; I am, too.

What now comes to mind is how Covid changed from being spread by contact to being airborne. People realized, in a # of ways, that it was the better explanation. -
