Since there's a flurry of UFO interest, I recommend this New Yorker piece as the fairest and most comprehensive discussion of the ambiguous evidence and conflicting approaches one could take:https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/05/10/how-the-pentagon-started-taking-ufos-seriously …

I can’t get enough of hearing pilots who fly bombs at supersonic speeds and land on aircraft carriers lose their sh&t when these things show up.

On the documentary side, an excellent (and far more exciting) intro would be The Phenomenon (2020, dir. James Fox).

You could not be more wrong. Sure, he delicately eases into the evolution of Leslie Kean-as-crackpot messenger by the end, but that misses the larger point of this insane media frenzy.https://twitter.com/keithkloor/status/1394636215304036355 …

It's impossible to overstate the massive journalism fail we're seeing today with the elevation of supposedly mysterious UFOs as a legitimate news story. 1/ https://twitter.com/60Minutes/status/1394070902237769728 …

this article was more about the government response to UFOs than the UFOs themselves. Relatively little discussion of purported encounters and the evidence for them.

Are we suddenly a fan of both-sidesing? The only reason the recent vids are getting any traction is that the DoD cannot, or are pretending for coin that they cannot, read their own excruciatingly expensive instruments.https://twitter.com/erikphoel/status/1394707839126495235 …

Anyone know of a good essay that debunks this UFO stuff? Mick West videos are really good but it's not very well-popularized. Basically government is not especially equipped for figuring this stuff out - and why would they be? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLyEO0jNt6M …
