This is pretty reasonable, although I'd underscore that this is a genuine mystery. We just don't know what these things are and they don't fit the normal patterns/explanations we're used to.https://twitter.com/ElieNYC/status/1394828321041567747 …

My take: UFOs = clearly real Aliens = Almost certainly exist Aliens mastering faster than light travel to come to our planet but being occasionally *caught* during their long term unfathomable project. = not bloody likely. UFOs are us doing stuff we're not suppose to know about. https://twitter.com/chrislhayes/status/1394764297880879109 …

I don’t see how it would be so unreasonable that at least some would have been caught visiting our planet.

The likeliest explanation has always been “US government doing something weird” so it’s the fact that it’s the Pentagon being so public about what it doesn’t know that has everyone freaking out

My favorite explanation is other countries spying on us with their classified tech, so it would make sense that the military/govt would draw attn to them to the public for a new source of reports and intel?

I’m always impressed by how readily folks who are normally skeptical of the national security state uncritically cite its statements and “disclosures” about UFO’s/UAP

There’s no reason they’d have to master faster than lighter travel, which is almost certainly impossible, to get here though. Even at our primitive stage we’re not that far away from developing laser light sail technology which could get us to 30% of light speed.

Yup. There's also no reason they would need to be undetected. Or maybe we're seeing automated probes from a civilization that went extinct a billion years ago. Or maybe we're in a simulation. Honestly, y'all. We're ants contemplating airplanes. At least understand that much.

Every one I am aware of has been explainable by relatively mundane phenomena. @MickWest is a good follow on this score.
