Yang's appeal was always based on him being an empty vessel on whom voters could project their hopes. By making a comment on Israel he suddenly defined himself and ended the illusion of being all things to all people.

Well, you ought to look up his atrocious statement on the ongoing Israeli ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. Also, he released a very dog-whistley statement about “crime,” arguing that “local neighborhoods” “know who the ‘troublemakers’ are” and should “turn them in.”
