But it's not a real country, that's the problem, they want to be one and they're being prevented from doing so.

Palestinians from time to time would talk about merging their territory with Jordan. The Arabs post WWI never wanted these small countries, they wanted a single state with all the Levant. Neither Gaza nor West Bank are viable as states.

I literally was taught “Palestine isn’t a country” and “Palestinians aren’t a nation” in Hebrew School in the late 1980s and early 1990s. By literally I mean “literally.”
