What was most galling, to me, about the Miller piece was that he took issue with the ethical category of ‘care’. No doubt, psychoanalysis troubles that intention and expectation—no doubt, ‘do no harm’ can be a failed ideal—but dismissing the category outright is outrageous.

What would you say psychoanalysis is good for, otherwise? If it’s not caring about care-ridden beings? Caring about people who fail at care and being cared for?
