Deficit spending and big government have lost their cachet over the last half decade, they're really trying to get inflation to stick but that seems like an uphill task to me.

I don't know any major right-wing personality who is for cutting and shrinking govt. Tucker isn't that guy. Hannity probably would be, but it wasn't really Trump's "message" so he didn't embrace it. (Trump's tax bill was regressive)

Agreed. But that's not a move left. They want to make sure money is concentrated in the right hands and free markets don't do that (the racist right in America has historically defended private enterprise but not free enterprise) especially highly securitized ones as 2008 showed.
