The ultra-Orthodox (Haredi/Hasidim) speak Yiddish, which makes ~1.5 million globally. I'm curious whether your average acculturated Jew knows more words of Yiddish or of Hebrew (or even knows which is which).

Thing is, I don't know if any other language combo would convey his point. I mean he COULD have said "You're speaking Latin when you should be speaking English" but I don't think that works as well.
