The Ghost Writer, the first Zuckerman book, is perfect little novel. Not a word out of place.

Sabbath’s Theater is FOUL but Counterlife is one of my favorite books ever.
Been thinking about re-reading 'Portnoy'. The world was different (as was I ) when I first read it.
I read it more than a decade ago and I laughed so much reading it.
The Counterlife and The Ghost Writer. I've fallen out of love with American Pastoral, which blew me away when it first came out, and for many years afterward. These days, American Pastoral reads a bit too much like hippie punching.
