True. But journalists still drink and still write about groups they drink with. Assuming journalists shouldn't live the life of hermits, I guess I'd prefer to confront problems of objectivity than problems of ignorance and access bias. (No more NYC Park Slope Coop stories!)

Two generations ago—with a few exceptions like Edna Buchanan—police reporters were white guys.
