1. Has anyone written on trend of fantasy movies paying tribute to the gritty films of the 1970s? Joke was a riff on Taxi Driver & Network, Kong: Skull Island & War for the Planet of the Apes both paid homage to Apocalypse Now. The next Batman movie nods the head to Chinatown.
