Agree if it’s done carefully with the intent to inform rather than a set agenda to dodge a thorny critique of govt. Frankly anyone born more than a few decades ago can be for lack of a better term retroactively cancelled. This was our issue with MacLean.

I think the “anyone born more than a few decades ago can be canceled” is fair, yes, and I think when we’re dealing with history “canceling” is often stupid. What’s done is done which grants us the liberty of delving in honestly and fully.

I don’t think it’s a fair description of the response to MacLean. MacLean provided an imperfect effort at looking into a broader picture and a lot of people that weren’t interested in thinking about a broader picture shut here down.

Yeah, my view of the Maclean thing is that it was a turf war. An outsider had impinged on sacred territory.
