Agree if it’s done carefully with the intent to inform rather than a set agenda to dodge a thorny critique of govt. Frankly anyone born more than a few decades ago can be for lack of a better term retroactively cancelled. This was our issue with MacLean.

I think the “anyone born more than a few decades ago can be canceled” is fair, yes, and I think when we’re dealing with history “canceling” is often stupid. What’s done is done which grants us the liberty of delving in honestly and fully.

Well, when the history becomes less internalist - as with Philip Mirowski - don't the economic historians become unhireable? At least among the top economics departments.
