Since the 90s I've felt identity left puts too much energy into language as an agent for social change but I also feel that centrist liberals & conservatives put too much energy into resisting language changes as a way of upholding the status quo. Language isn't that important!

I mean obviously language is crucial for communication and around the edges shapes perception but c'mon. It's social and material realities that are the base of existence. Undo the cultural turn!
