Agreed. The reason to change it is that it is easy, so why not? The reason that it is easy is that it's not attached to anything structural, only sometimes to another person's feelings.

At the same time the history wrestling with language has well positioned the left to really work at inclusion across many identities, which imo is a precondition for the beautiful future.

Language was also the way to talk about many identities when lots of lefties were still hammering class-over-all I think language is a culture tool, too, and so is utilized a lot when culture was the space the left had the ability to move, vs economics
