If publisher took books out print for allegedly being offensive then the libraries are in tough position keeping them in kids section. Gatekeepers reinforce gatekeepers.
Moving those books to the adult section would make a lot of sense & be preferable. It goes along with my own policy solution which is that Seuss be re-classified as an adult writer. Not sure whether either the Seuss estate or librarians would agree.

The estate is guided by the imperatives of brand management & protection, while librarians take cue from publishers and estate. That's why I want to emphasize copyright reform as a solution.
