Has any right-wingers angry about the Seuss thing addressed the obvious policy solution (liberalizing copyright)? I know some libertarians have but I'm talking about generic right-wingers. Have I missed something?

Intellectual prop. (except trademarks) are the shortest-lived property right. No one says you can’t give your home to your children in your will or control how assets are used in a charitable trust. You can argue property rights are extinguished at death but be consistent.
