The demographic differences in user bases from early Clubhouse and Parler are so vast and the content so different and the predominant political ideologies so contrasting that I suspect *Will Wilkinson has contempt for them* may be the most like thing about them

And as people who go in more than 3 rooms before making broad pejorative categorizations will quickly discover, proponents of Critical Race Theory and ADOS reparations and many other leftist ideologies are and have long been very present on the app

But you don't have to take my word for it to see that your characterizations are wildly wrong. For example:https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2021-02-01/clubhouse-app-hip-hop-black-creatives-billion-valuation …

I don't know the percentage of international users, but I've had Clubhouse convos with majority Nigerian and Jamaican rooms. The vibe wasn't Parleresque!

I'm sure I'm having the experience I'm having because my pre-existing social network skews right/libertarian so the app keeps featuring rooms up top that include those and related folks talking about how respectful egalitarian speech norms are tyrannical, etc

I'd love to talk about that! My hunch is it's a proxy for discomfort with the way capitalism responds to demographic and cultural change. Markets don't care about what libertarians think, but care a lot about what the huge younger, browner, woker cohort of consumers thinks.

It's hardly surprising that an ideological faction that is as overwhelmingly white and overwhelming male as libertarianism is (whiter and maler than the GOP, in fact) should be uncomfortable with demographic changes in workplace shifting social norms.
