It's exactly because Manchin has no real political argument with Tandem that this is, as I said, "amazing." He's just doing this as a flex.https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/1362890871474184193 …

Jeet HeerVerified account @HeerJeetIf I were a Senator grilling Tanden I wouldn't be talking about tweets. I'd ask her about this: in 2015 the Center For American Progress excised a chapter on police misconduct in NY the Bloomberg era from a report. Did the $1.5 million Bloomberg gave CAP influence this? pic.twitter.com/OOutflQlxfShow this thread2 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

Sanders' stance on those issues were quiet rightly brought up by opposing candidate in 2016 and 2020. Just so, when Tanden is nominated for a powerful position, her many, many problematic actions and policies should be aired.

That one episode is hardly the sum of progressive objections to Tanden. The critique is easily findable and is not insubstantial. True, a lot of it is common to corporate think tanks but that's the problem, no?

I didn't say or mean it's the only thing to disqualify her. But it's a bad thing -- and if common to think tank world, then it shows a problem with that world.
