1. In retrospect the failed putsch of Jan. 6 was likely the last chance the GOP party elite had of severing ties with Trump. They could have coalesced around a quick removal (either through 25 Amendment or impeachment). Instead the party is becoming more Trumpified than ever.

5. Hawaii GOP tweeted out support for QAnon and praised a Holocaust denier (complete with tooth brush moustache). To be fair, com. person who tweeted that fired, but still a sign of where party was that they held that post.pic.twitter.com/8xSv0IXkw7

“Pennsylvania GOP, once a more moderate part of the party, is now nearly all Trumpist.” PA, OR, MI, AZ... It’s almost as if the more visible and influential well-armed militia in a state, the more detached from reality and Trumpist the GOP becomes. Guns make GOP pols Trumpist.

At least in Congress, moderate Republicans have little chance of survival. Democrats wouldn’t vote for them since Trump got elected, because flipping Congress has been a high priority, and Republican voters have gotten more radicalized. It’s hard to fight a large voter bloc.
