There's a parallel between how these institutions are acting and how the GOP is handling the violent Trumpists: in both cases an attempt to placate & appease the sore losers of 2020.https://twitter.com/AdamSerwer/status/1352985397173903362 …

What's the support for this claim. Who were the people fired from NYT and Niskanen Center, and what did they say? (I know Fox fired 2 newsreaders for their early announcement that Biden carried Arizona.)

NYT fired a contract editor for tweeting how happy she was during Biden’s inauguration Niskanen fired Will Wilkinson for joking that Biden should lynch Pence to show unity with the GOP

Wilkinson was fired for suggesting Pence should be lynched. The editor (Lauren Wolfe) was fired for factual inaccuracies (Tweeting Trump refused to provide Biden a plane when in fact he had offered to). Neither was fired to "placate" right-wingers. https://www.foxnews.com/media/new-york-times-lauren-wolfe-canceled-contract-biden-i-have-chills …

"suggesting Pence should be lynched" is a dishonest misreading of the tweet, the point of which was clearly the absurdity of unity when one party (Trumpist) want to lynch Pence.
