??? Argument or have we just we’ve moved into the realm of pompous assertion. No—Occupy was, yes, an occupation of city property. It did not assault the locus of American representative democracy—can’t help you if you don’t grasp that distinction.

You might, since you’re thinking about the Left, ask yourself, with a bit of dispassion, whether you would have labeled, in 1969, a similar attack by Weather Underground of the Capitol with the intent to obstruct the ratification of the 1968 election, to be a mere “riot.”

Yeah—just a few hours of the same groups who did the Days of Rage in Chicago—but except in the US Capitol. And they hang a working gallows in the front of the building and break into the Speaker’s office and beat a cop to death. Would you have been just as dismissive?

And I just gave you an answer, which you haven’t acknowledged and I also distinguished Occupy from 1/6—in fact, I went further and distinguished 1/6 from a “coup” which I think is the wrong term. But you chose not to address anything I wrote.

So attacking the US Capitol and seeking to harm constitutional officers—the VP, the Speaker—equal occupying Zuccotti Park to you.

Surely one problem is that even if we accept that the goal of some in the mob was to harm Pence, Pelosi, http://et.al ., we have no clear evidence that Trump knew that would be their goal when he encouraged them to go to the Capitol.

Is there any clear evidence that Henry II knew saying, "will no one rid me of this turbulent priest" would lead to the murder of Thomas Becket?

Yeah, I don’t find this point re Trump’s motives or erratic inner life, relevant at all.
