On impeachment: I fully support it, but *only* if the House knows that there will be a conviction in the Senate. Impeaching and again failing to convict along partisan lines is worse than a waste of time. It will be another mark of pride for Trump and his insurrectionist faction.

I don't think so. Those 5-10 will just be dismissed at RINOs. Of course that will happen to 17+, too. But it's the consequences that count. This has to be more than theater. Actually removing the president for the first time in American history would be a big deal, and salutary.
