I disagree. Much of the problem with our officials - both elected & appointed is that they have virtually no accountability. They absolutely owe us, and they should be reminded of that - constantly.

In Canada we have a mandatory retirement for our Justices at age 75 to avoid giving them such arbitrary power.

Imagine giving an individual such incredible power to check elected government and then claiming they “don’t owe you anything”

Jeet, come on, this kind of thing is literally how we got ACB and the 6-3 conservative majority. SB is a public servant and a public figure and when he chooses to retire could easily affect hundreds of millions of people.
