What are some fun biographies written by authors who clearly think their subjects are awful? First one that comes to mind for me: Dominic Sandbrook's Eugene McCarthy bio, which becomes a tragedy about an egomaniac trying to claw back relevance that he only accidentally earned.

It's pretty entertaining to read a book a book by someone who absolutely despises his subject to the point of coming up with an unhinged theory that unsolved crimes can be blamed on the subject.
