Understatement - Hayek's general work on planned economies are fairly devastating as a critique which to this day people have struggled to resolve. You can't be a serious good faith writer without acknowledging this.

A lot of that is already in von Mises, which Hayek codified. And it's a critique of a narrow type of command economy which has little to say about most activity in a mixed economy.

Statements like that are the kind of thing an ideologue says, not a serious intellectual. Hayek is an important thinker of the 20th century and, again, I don't agree with him.
