I can't believe Doctorate Discourse has lasted a week. Here's the deal: WSJ op ed & subsequent attacks are motivated by hatred of Joe Biden, with Jill Biden being used as a surrogate target. They should be dismissed as nasty & sexist, without arguments dignified as serious.

The mistake people are making is treating the smearing of Jill Biden as if it were anything more than a troll and as if it deserved anything other than scorn. You can't argue with a troll, only way forward is to call it what it is.

This is the work of a professional troll who has been doing this their entire lifetime. Perfectly timed for maximum impact. People play right into it. Don't feed the troll.

It's a troll being amplified by one of the most prominent newspapers in the country. That's the real problem.

It’s a troll being amplified by millions of people on the left showering attention on it.

This is what the Biden presidency is going to look like. They are going to force everyone to try and respect it. A lot of people simply won't.

The only thing is the Wall Street Journal decided to spend some of their social capital (they have any left?) in printing it.

The WSJ editorial calling Dr. Biden "kiddo" was far more than a troll. Joseph Epstein has devoted a long lifetime to disparaging the achievements of women.https://twitter.com/stephenniem/status/1338312353117515777 …

This is what they do. Ask Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton. Their base is full of misogynists and so the party apparatchiks stoke the traditional-family-roles culture war flames. It has nice crossover appeal to white evangelical women too
