That's not what Sec of Energy does, primarily. She'd be a better candidate for EPA. DOE is overwhelmingly focused on research and nuclear security. That said, I'm not remotely worried about Granholm. She's smart, she'll have a deputy who knows about nukes and energy grids

my point is only that she's at most equally qualified to Buttigieg. Currently she teaches law. Previously she was a talking head. She's a politician, being given a political job, with subject-area experts below her. It's normal, contra what half of Twitter thinks about Buttigieg

I agree the "qualification" critique of Buttigieg is nonsense. The political critique has more bite.
