This is beyond ridiculous. Most voters have no idea who Feinstein even is. Let alone know that she hugged Lindsey Graham. The real answer is way simpler: Dems won a bunch of R leaning districts in 2018 and in a high turnout 2020 environment they lost some of them back.https://twitter.com/HeerJeet/status/1336890946684821505 …

If the Democrats were a serious political party aiming at power (instead of a job program for insiders), they would think about how Feinstein's hug of Lindsey Graham hurt them with down ballot voters. pic.twitter.com/0sIaIIk884

Do you honestly think the Harrison campaign thought this image was no big deal and didn't mind that a leading Democrat was affirming the idea that Graham was someone Democrats could work with?

I would bet a large amount of money that if we conducted a poll of South Carolina voters, a majority could not tell you: 1. Who Feinstein is 2. Why she hugged Graham 3. When the hug took place It couldn’t have impacted the race if voters didn’t know these things

The nomination of Amy Coney Barrett was a big deal. People followed that and Feinstein's handling of the hearings were so inept that ACB rose in popularity. Let's pretend that doesn't matter.

I don’t really understand the argument. That a bunch of voters were planning on voting for the Democrats until they saw Feinstein‘s hug and then said I’m voting Republican instead?

Yes, that's the basis of the argument.

Jamie Harrison lost by 10%. Do you really think that a hug—could swing the race by 10%? Every single Dem voted against Barrett. What else could they have done? I think you need major evidence to back up your assertion here that a hug can move a statewide race by double digits

So, I’m going to straight up ask you why you think Harrison lost. I have by own theory about old south vs new, the Devil you know and bias. I want to know your thoughts.
