#twitterstorians can you help me compile a list of marxist US historians working today? I don't care to argue about what the term means, self-identification or close enough is fine by me. I'm just curious.

Good call on Davis, thank you. I'm open to seeing Harvey that way and think historians should read him but it's my impression he doesn't describe himself that way. I thought of another - Staughton Lynd

By US historian do you mean historians working on the US? US-based historians? Or historians with American citizeship?

Interesting question. Many of us work in the tradition of E.P. Thompson and continue to see class as an important catagory of analysis and work broadly in the history of capitalism. But my focus is on environmental issues and I'm asking different questions from Thompson et al.

Yeah totally. My impression is that Thompsonians only sometimes ID as marxists, but I could be wrong. I don't have a view about whether or not they should, I just dont want to lump people into a category they don't use for their work.
