Honestly after “The Virgin Suicides” and “Lost in Translation” I was expecting her to have a much more impressive career but “overly obsessed with the privileged” is not how I’d characterize her body of work at all.

The problem is that it tends to be extremely reductive of what it wants to see addressed in art. Anything that's not dialectical fodder is dismissed as either irrelevant or bourgeois or simply dialectically incorrect (when it's not even playing your game). It's tiresome.
