Key part of the New Deal coalition was rural economic populists that were culturally conservative. Dems should drop the litmus tests on social issues, run candidates in those areas that better align w/the electorate. Goal should be to get 70% of what you want rather than 0%.

So a majority of voters are economically progressive, a majority are socially/culturally progressive, and a plurality are both. How do those larger groups of voters take back the narrative?
