There could’ve been one, *maybe* two great albums if you culled the best of Dylan’s Christian stuff. “In the Summertime” is great and Slow Train Coming rocks pretty hard largely thanks to Knopfler.

Dylan's work during this period is stellar, but you wouldn't know it from the studio albums. The Bootleg Series album from the born-again years shows how strong some of those songs were, and how intense his live performances were.
