Dallas and Houston would have to be the top choices. 4th and 5th largest metros in the US. The other top-7 metros are arguably over-represented (NYC, LA, Chicago, DC, Miami) as is #9 Atlanta thanks to GA film incentives.

I think there's a disproportionately large pipeline of writers, actors, directors, and producers who grew up in Massachusetts or attended universities in the Boston area.

Plus a more distinct sense of place and local culture than for many cities, even larger ones

In the media in general it’s waaaaay over represented. Just look at the hype around the Red Sox breaking their 86 year curse in 2004 vs the White Sox breaking their 88 year curse in 2005!
