Linda Millar was the daughter of the crime writers Ross Macdonald and Margaret Millar. They were great writers and did untold damage to Linda, whose life was marked by trauma, accidents, disappearances, and tragedy. I tell her story at @CrimeReads.https://crimereads.com/linda-interrupted/ …

What haunted me about this story, which I thought about for years and spent much of this year researching and reporting, is how a girl's life, once more, got subsumed into art. Macdonald's and Millar's best books emerged after Linda's worst troubles (like her 1959 disappearance.)pic.twitter.com/q0Y1g5gzIP

Looking foward to reading this. I know a little of the story via my Hugh Kenner researches (Kenner was close to Ross Macdonald).
