    1. A big question for Biden's DoJ and also state prosecutors is whether to go after Trump or not for his manifold crimes. Biden seems war, as Obama was with Bush, but that could only be a desire to keep arms length from legal decision.

        2. Case against prosecuting Trump is it would only strengthen Trumpism. He's an anti-system politician so if he's fighting the law, that will bind him to his followers all the more.

        3. The case for prosecuting is Trump has done a lot of crimes! And allowing him to get away with it will only lead to more future corruption.https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/trump-prosecute-crimes-biden/ …

This will not remotely be a question for them, they won't touch it with a 10 foot pole, which you're smart enough to know Jeet.

Dems NEED to protect their future: if they don't go after Trump with everything they've got they won't have one. Obama's blanket absolution of Bush gave us Trump.

Prosecutors are *supposed* to have independence. That’s the norm. That’s what’s best for society. But Presidents & DoJ have wide latitude about what *types* of crimes to go after. Treason, election interference, and major financial crime, should be at the very top of the list

Biden would have to get through the federal investigations of himself first without, what was it...obstructing

I think the pick will tell us the inclination. Merrick Garland seems like a signal that it’s not important a Jones or Yates seems like it would be at least depending on evidence. I’m hoping Garland was a distraction leak and we get Jones (or someone like that).

If Biden names a supporter as AG (Sally Yates, Doug Jones) that person would be called upon to recuse from a case involving Trump (a la Jeff Sessions and Russia).

A big part of his approach is based on what happened and didn’t happen after watergate and Iran-contra (filtered through Roger stone, Barr, and Roy Cohn). Can’t let him walk.
