One problem with Godfather III is that Al Pacino's acting style had completely changed since earlier movies. The expressive Michael Corleone of GF III doesn't seem like careful, reticent man of GF I and IIhttps://twitter.com/SamRo/status/1328756174263619584 …

really love the basic premise of this tweet, which is that Die Hard 2 is an enduring classic that might make other movies look bad

"Gosh, honey, I'd love to see the conclusion of an epic mafia trilogy and follow-up to one of the greatest films of all time, but I think I'd just rather sit here and ponder Sean Connery's accent work in The Hunt for Red October"

Also the helicopter scene is idiotic

And symptomatic. The first two had plausibility. Everything about III strained credulity

yeah, not that bad, but terribly marred by one really hideous nepotismal performance

Sofia Coppola's performance is arguably the worst acting I've ever seen in a professional film. Makes the Star Wars prequels look like masterful performances

The only purpose of the movie was to make money. That was the problem.

I think that's too harsh a view of the movie. But I think the other point is that it came out two decades later? So enough time that the first two has congealed into a summa of a kind of movie making. Adding something to that was always going to be a let down, something off.

I watched it years ago and thought it was fine, just not great. It also arguably contains on the most quoted lines from the series.
