i am a known ROGUE ONE hater but i feel like i should revisit the movie, it’s been awhile and i wonder if i’m just being needlessly contrarian here https://t.co/a4A70vdqpR

And has a refreshing lack of whiny Skywalker dudes.

I loved it, but it made me so sad I never rewatched it

I liked the ending, but I felt like it was a bit of a slog to get there.

The Mandalorian & Rogue One, which tell conceptually smaller stories than the main franchise, are much better than the mainstream movies. Finally watched Rise of Skywalker and, while it wasn’t exactly awful, the story felt like eating days-old spaghetti reheated in the microwave.

I would add "The Clone Wars" and "Rebels" to this list. Two animated shows that are (ostensibly) aimed at kids, but end up packing a greater emotional punch.

The first two acts are a mess, but the third act works as well as anything Star Wars has done since the 80s.
-
What I'm hearing is that someone has to slog through two acts in order to get to anything worthwhile or any kind of payoff and that's too much for me

I like a lot of the character is Rogue one, so even the first two acts are Ok for me. The end is just amazing though.

The Mads Mikkelsen hologram exposition scene is, however, unspeakably, irresolvably bad. A crime against narrative.
