yeah, i don't necessarily think that a wonky fascist will get Goldwater'd in a general, but I have a hard time seeing them capture the specific cult of personality Trump brought about.

one of Trump's defining qualities was his willingness to take on existing Republican institutions though, which Hawley and Cotton will not do. Tucker is much more in that mold.

It'll never work. I think the weird "charisma" he has appeals to a certain person and I think he's a very singular personality.

That being said the narrative among republicans has gotten much more conspiratorial about Democrats so my guess is there will be a contingent of people who eat up Trumpism's
