Not true. Remember that trust in government spiked after 9/11. Don’t sleep on how much the Second Gulf War, Katrina, and the 2008 financial crisis eroded trust.

That's true it's come in waves. But the sort of deep generational trust that characterized WWII and early Cold War -- a period of nearly 30 years -- seems exceptional.
