Yeah, 538 is projecting a turnout that could reach 65% of eligible voters, the biggest since 1908 (when, of course, the majority of the population didn't even have the franchise).

Understood, but I still think polls/2018 result is a better way to predict high turnout than early voting in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. Hard to parse at this moment if these are new voters or not is all I'm saying.

I think the 538 projection of a record turnout isn't based just on early voting but also polling and other factors. 154 million is what they think, with a possibility of as high as 165 million.
