The United States is looking at the biggest voter turnout, as a percentage of the total number of eligible voters, in well over a century. My instinct is to say that makes polling less reliable but I'd love to know what actual experts think.

I would imagine Trump's hardcore base has remained stable, but most of the early voting stats seem to indicate that a not-insignificant part of the increased turnout is from young people who sat out/were too young to vote in 2016
