Except for Orthodox voters. I suspect that as their percentage of the Jewish population increases, the percentage of Jews voting Republican may also increase...

Do this: Go into synagogue. Ask people "Have you attended this synagogue since birth?" You'll find a huge number of people were raised Orthodox even if they're Conservative or Reform now. Just because Orthodox are having a lot of kids doesn't mean they're going to displace.

It really HAS happened, to a degree, among Orthodox Jews only. But Jews overall were probably more Republican under Reagan than today, b/c of the growing education divide in the vote and rising salience of social issues.
