It's like a tech startup executive who stumbled into a successful company through no fault of his own and who spends the rest of his career trying to recreate that exact company without understanding what made it successful.

This is exactly this. It's also very much rich people who inherit successful businesses started by a hard worker and think that bloodline is why the business will continue to be successful.

But like a MUCH worse version. It's not really directly about the candidate. It is sloppy in every way. And it is VERY obviously fabricated by the campaign. It requires conspiracy thinking that no one on the fence is gonna be convinced by.
