I mean, a big part of this is that New York is able to test a shitload of people, while smaller states have to scrounge for testing capacity. Especially once FL and GA and TX started gobbling up tests this summer.

Iowa is only doing 2K-4K tests per day for 3 million people, NY is doing 140K for 19 million . That’s almost 6 times more per capita
